The only one I know of from the town I grew up in is Mark Bortz, who played football with the Bears. He was on the superbowl team famous for the superbowl shuffle.

John Updike, Norman Mailer, John F. Kennedy, Theodore (and Franklin) Roosevelt, Jack Lemmon, Tommy Lee Jones, Theodore Kaczynski, the Duke of Bedford (recently dec'd), Howard Phillips, Larry Tribe, Arthur Kopit, Henry Kissinger, Bill Gates, Edwin Land, John Lithgow... and a few others.
That's college. The only even semifamous person who went to Poughkeepsie High School was Monty Stickles, who played for the 49ers and the Saints for a couple of years. He was also in the forgettable Freebie and the Bean. (Then he got busted for having sex with an underage girl, and that was the last anybody heard of him.)

Hmmm, I've never cared enough to find out, really! There's probably a few though. I know there's quite a few big bands that are from around here. Brian Warner (Marilyn Manson) went to HS just down the road at Coral Springs HS. I remember him as a dorky high school kid. In fact, the first time I really sat down and talked to him, he thought I was quite strange because I was into Piercing and scarification. I guess 10 years ago, that stuff was a bit unusual. But look at him now. Now who's the strange one?! It always makes me laugh. |

Curtis Brown that plays for the Buffalo Sabres was born in the same town as me and went to the same high school (UCHS).
There was only about two things to do in the winter there ski-dooing or playing hockey. I guess that paid off for him.
He was a few years younger than me but hey I guess two good things came from that town him and me!!! He he.

My High School, Glenbard North, NOT to be confused with Glenbrook North which is a half hour away, had the lead singer of Smashing Pumpkins and I could of sworn there was someone else, and my cousins went to the same his High as Hillary Clinton, Main East High School.
