Good question. Probably not. Think about having a TV card and recording a TV movie onto your PC then burning a DVD with it. That would probably be legal.

The courts have done a lovely job of avoiding the really difficult questions dealing with computer technology. And we're all better because of that neglect.

True, very true. I like laziness.

I don't know osprey, it's really easy to get a good quality movie, if you know where you're looking.
For me to find a DVD screener for a movie after it's been in the theater for maybe a month, it's not too difficult.

The bands were Killer Peace and Mother Fletcher. I've looked on Kazaa and never turned them up again. Random people would download them from me when Napster was still going. Probably ran across them searching for another song that had a similar title and downloaded them on a whim, who knows?

I believe it is legal to rebroadcast TV you get over your antenna (cable cos do it), but not stuff through your cable line. Not sure tho. There was a case between Canada and the US about it.

Personally, I don't just see why we make it illegal to sell information, but legal to sell methods to get this information (a la GPL). Music co's can still make money off concerts (which give ALOT of revenue), Software cos can still make money (just not as much, and M$ may start hurting), and the movie industry makes most of thier $$$ from movie theaters anyway (it could, say, be illegal to tape concerts and movie theaters to make the industries profitable). Blockbuster may go under, but to shut the RIAA and MPAA up, it's worth it. That's all IMHO tho.
