anyone in denver?

this morning around 11ish i was woken up by a very very loud alarm, like the kind they have on war movies (yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeoooooooooooooooo)

i opened my window and it got about 10x louder
anyone have a clue what it was?

We have sirens around here for severe weather (tornados) that they test every first Monday of the month at 11am. They used to be air raid sirens, but now they use them for tornados.

Cant remeber if there's a Nuculear plant near Denver or not but its either a test of the warning siren for that or the tornado sirens(we had em is Colorado springs when i was living there)

I'm in the Denver area.
You must be new here, or at least new to the location you are in now.
We hear the siren every second Wednesday of the month, as a test of the system (like you occasionally hear a test tone of the EBS on the radio and TV...this is a test, this is only a test...). It's been like this for as many years as I can remember...

i have been here in this part of denver for about 2 years.. maybe i heard it before... usually i am a very sound sleeper
before we moved out here we lived in littleton for like 4 years

I'm in denver. It's a weather siren they test every wednesday at 11. You'll get used to it, trust me.
