COA for winXP

Okay This might be stupid of me asking or saying. But Ive noticed something They sell the COA for WINXP for pretty much the same price as the OS itself why can't they sell it cheaper then that.. I mean if I was to but the COA for my WinXP and I needed the key for the next system I would go ahead and buy a new oem winXP. hehhehe it makes me kinda laugh at that. Just to make money they go along way. Just sell it for 10 bucks even 15 bucks that would make everyone happy and its reasonable I say

Sorry but that is illegal. SIMPLE REALLY.

ah, sorry to break the news to an innocent , but M$ is in it for the money. If they reduce the price by $5.00 then they lose $5.00!! If you break the law by doing an endrun, you go to jail.

Simple, Huh?

Vern is right. M$'s licensing prices have always made them lots of money, so they ain't about to stop now.

This is what the whole "activation" issue is about. So you can't use the COA on more than one PC.

You can get licensing per PC slightly cheaper using bulk licenses, but it's not that much cheaper, and only available to certain customers with certain requirements.

M$ has got us all by the short hairs here. This is one of the reasons linux is becoming much more interesting to corporate clients - you can buy one CD set, and install it on as many PC's as you want.

Cheers
Mick
