44 minutes and a question
I just saw the movie '44 minues' about the North Hollywood Shooting in 1997, on FX.
I thought the movie was very well done, especially considering the subject the movie was done on. Most of these kinds of movies spend too much time on backstory and foreshadowing and the such. This one, however, I thought, did a great job of avoiding this, and really just started off, showing a normal day in LA, and 2 guys in a car, outside a bank, with AKs. The movie was not overdramatized, in my opinion. It's very hard to compare the movie with the actual events, however, since the actual events were so horrible. It's really, really great that no one died.
Anyway, I have a question. Didn't the guy who was shown arrested at the end of the movie actually kil himself? I seem to remember when it was breaking news that one guy put a gun to his head as he was being surrounded.
