Paintball Marker

I'm looking to buy a paintball gun. Friends have told me to buy either a Tippman 98 custom, or a Tippman A-5. Anyone know where to buy these. I also will need all the equipment included, or bought seperate.

Cheapest prices I can find:

$169.99
Package Includes:
- 12 Ounce Tank
- V-Force Armor Goggle System
- Full Finger Gloves
- 200 Round Loader
- Tippman 98 Custom
- Elbow

http://www.888paintball.com/product....=PKG+CSTM+98+3

Or I would like to get the A-5:

$209.95 for the Marker includes nothing.

What is the equipment & gun I should get?
Looking to spend upto $300?

well i never owned one. but if i could go back to when i got mine i would have bought a spyder LT ( i think that was it, it was at least 4-5 years ago) i own a stingray II ask anyone they will tell you it is a cheap piece. but i got it with the premis that if i liked paintball i would get a better gun. i never got into it all that much and now the gun isn't worth evenhalf of what it cost me. when i got it they were 90ish i know they are much cheaper now.

edit. i should add that my friend had a Model 98 with bottom line and verticle grip, i dont think it had the expansion chamber. it it was MUCH nicer then any stingray II. it quickly notice the diffrence between good guns and cheap ones.

do your friends paly at a field where they rent guns? or try out your friends guns.

Ok, first Tippman, eh... no. My dad uses a Tippman, i've used a few other markers that are way better then Tippmans. Spiders are alot better. Plus that package is a ripoff- 12OZ takes = crap(you'll want a 20oz).The goggles = crap. Chest and Back Protector = if you're going to go play a real game, you're going to get ragged on for wearing a chest protector(in other words they're weak)

Some ones I found that'd suit you well:

http://www.888paintball.com/product....e=PKG+ICON+010

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=16048

keep in mind with markers, price = quality, quality = how many times you're taking it apart because of problems inside the marker.

BTW I've plated PB since I was around 12, 15 now, only a few years of experince.

Make sure to get glasses that dont fog up (thermal protection I think, or something like that). Playing paintball and having your glasses fog after 2 hours of playing while trying to snipe some poor sucka isn't fun.

I've never used one, but I've always heard good things about Angels. When I went paintballing a while back, one guy had an Angel and it was alot better than the Tippmans we used.

Look for used ones for sale for cheap.

Around here there are two kinds of people:

a) Those selling their guns
and
b) Those who have sold there guns.

I always see guns for sale in the classified's, so you can save some of your money for your next big date.
