Can anyone tell me about the measles?

My son woke up with a rash on his face this morning.
It's worse now, working it's way down his cheeks (it was on his forehead and eyes and cheeks this morning)
He says he doesn't feel to good and his throat feels icky.
It looks like the rash is in his mouth too..
He doesn't have much fever if any.

Anyone here have measles? I haven't had any since I was about 4 so I just don't remember that much . I never had rubella but I'm sure he was vaccinated against that one.

Whatever it is, I hope he's feeling alright soon.

hmmmm ya need to get him to the doc ASAP.
Sure its not the chicken pots?

I'd double check on his vaccantion records for that rebulla. That stuff is nasty. I had that when my mom was 8 weeks pregnant with me. Was born with spots and rash all over.

I think he was vaccinated for rubella.
But not the 2 week measles.
I'm concerned about taking him to the doctor if he's contagious.

I wish I could find some pictures.

I thought the rubella vaccination came along with measels and mumps? Hence MMR vaccine...

No possible way for it to be an allergic reaction to something?

In any case, a checkup is probably in order.

Surreal, has your child ever had pink eye before? its highly contagious but needs to be seen by a doc for a prescription. Just like any other sickness. That is the risk people take by going to the doctor to get meds.

Get him to the doc ASAP weather he is contagious or not.

If you are uncomfortable with this, call the doctors office first before going. Most likely they will tell you to come in.

It's going to have to wait till Monday. No way I can afford the emergency room, even with what insurance would cover it's still be several hundred I'm sure.

I saw that Prexaspes when I was looking around for vaccines.

several hunderd dollars for an office visit?
Um surreal does your city have one of those weekend clinics? those clinics are just like doctors office except its a walkin in clinic. They don't charge like ER prices. you don't want the ER.

What city are you in?

Harrisburg, and nope none of that stuff here. I've been through the phone book.
Geeze, the more I look at the symptoms I'm sure he's got measles.
And he was vaccinated for them.
