Anyone know off a good site explaing stocks or a forum?

I am looking for a forum to learn some more about making money off of stocks. Being relativley young I don't know very much and being cheap, I dont want to buy some book.

But I am very interested in starting to invest (on a small scale of course) and make a little money for college ect.

If you want to do it properly, you'll be making money for your retirement, not for college, that's too short term, at least according to the Motley Fool philosophy

Never gamble with money you can't afford to lose!

I agree, if you plan on investing in this way, make sure its money you don't depend on and you don't mind losing in case you do loose it.

Far too many people depend on this as thier source of income and when it doesn't do well the person themselves are not living very happily.

MDDan's link up there, to the Motley Fool, is some of the best, no BS education you can get, and it's free.

my advice is to buy what you know. i know pharmaceuticals, so thats what i have bought and i have done very well. my friend is an electrical engineer and buys only telecommunications and semiconductor stocks and he does well. i know nothing about his, and vice versa. you will be able to make more informed decisions on a stocks value if you follow that.
