RANT!!! about California + power

So i'm sitting here and its about 100000 degress outside I don't have the ac wich I should have because its hot in the house and well what happens next?? the power goes out now mind you I'm on the computer don't have a back-up {wich i know i should} and thank god i wasn't doing anything important.

So sitting here in the dark sweating like a lil pig nothing to do but play games on my cell phone and well call other people that are sittin in the dark the power comes on across the street, so I'm thinking yay ours will be on soon errrr wrong another 10mins goes bye there power goes back out

20 mins later I've called everyone I can think of to call so I'm playing battleship on my phone. 30 mins later and still no power. I give up on the game and go outside well the people a block over have power but we don't. Another 10 mins and finally the power comes back on yup an hour without power. At 930 pm I can see rolling blackouts during the day but at night come on

Well it's the people in California's fault as well.
Wasn't it a few years ago when we could have had more power plants, but we wanted more mini-malls?
I guess it's the typical California mentality.

On the other hand, we lose power once every month or so on a random occasion. No storms or anything, just lose power.

Time to move to a local grid that contains a hospital....then you'll always have power and/or quick service. j/k

I've noticed in SoCal that how well the local city is run has a lot to do with a better utility uptime.

Because SoCal housing expands so quickly... a local city that knows how to plan ahead, work properly with developers, and engineer utility expansion better are the same cities that have much better uptime.

I live near a tri city area and I also have a few rentals nearby.....

I noticed that houses that have concrete gutters, better streets, more undergound utilities, and well maintained poles never have to worry about utility outages unless there's a wide spread outage. The city with overloaded and crooked poles, no curbs or asphalt curbs, pothole filled streets, and a city counsel that mishandles development processes/money seem to go up and down all the time.

Well we never had outages last year during all the crap that was going on in fact this is the first time we've lost our power cause of rolling black outs if thats what it even was. I know several places around town had power outages yesterday so I'm assuming. Just pisses ya off that we even have these problems

Ya' know Omardeth, normally everybody blames the power company!

But . . . . . . . . In the California case, I agree with you!

Power Company is only guilty of trying to make money!

CA residents and THE state are guilty of poor planning!
