I am the only UPS screws?
I have a package I ordered last week being held by UPS. It was shipped on the 4th, arrived in my town on the 8th and has been drving around on their truck for two days now. Are they holding my package hostage or what? If it gets on the truck to be delivered, what do I have to do to actually have them bring the package to me? I would be happy if I could just pick it up from them, but they keep their local warehouses secretive. Ugh!

Well here I call them.. not the 1-800 number.. but I find the number to the warehouse.. and I talk to someone there.. Find yours.. or see if they can give it to you on the 1-800 number.. then call and let them know the info u know.. and that you want your package..

Consider yourself fortunate. They just busted a UPS driver in my part of the world. He was signing for 20-30 packages a day himself and taking the stuff home and fencing it out the back door.
Man, oh brother, I'll bet it took about 100 complaints before Customer Abuse woke up.

I've had FedEx hold packages from delivery because it was before the guaranteed delivery time. I assume its because they don't want me to get the idea I can get my packages in two days when I order a service that is guaranteed for six days. Kinda makes sense and annoys me at the same time.

I had Fedex do the same thing. Then tell me how lucky I was that they let me have my package after holding it for two days. The best thing you can do if you get alot of stuff via UPS or Fedex is get to know the warehouse guy. Get that local number. Once I had that I was golden. But aware in the times of tightened security they may be leary of letting you in or giving you the number.

We send / recieve UPS daily. Our route driver is supposed to deliver ALL "Guaranteed early" packages first, in the morning. Then, w/o ever going in, deliver the REST of his load. Even if it's to the exact same places.
So if he does it "by the book", he'd hit our dock around 9 & drop off one package but refuse to unload others!
So it's very likely that they'd sit on things to avoid doing it too soon.
In a way, it all makes some sense. Every delivery, every box, takes time. And they SHOULD give preferential treatment to those that pay extra to get it!
Heck, if I've got something coming at home & it gets here in one piece - ever - I'm thrilled!!

Cadet, that 's what I always say, ups did we do that?
sent a 19" sony monitor up north, marked fragile six ways to sunday, got there, it was totalled, they say "Can you prove it was packaged properly." How can you prove that? you can't and they know it, we couldn't not sign for it, someone else already did
I still say fed-ex and UPS should merge, great name Fed-UPS.
