its gotta be here,but where??

i ve been semi frantic for around 2 months now. i cannot find my win xp cd. i know where i used it last, when i installed some files to the other machine for file sharing, but its was nowhere to be found. i tore apart every single cd case we owned in the house, even went as far as going into both vehicles and looked in all the cases there.

then today, while doing nothing out of theordinary, while sittting in the same chair as i m in now, i looked in a paper cd cover lurking on the shelf underneath the keyboard, and there it was.or is,i should say,for i didnt even move it yet. i m afraid to

funny how its always in the last place ya look.....

its bed time,for sure

see yous on the morrow

Man, if you find it, and you keep looking anyway, you should probably seek some help.

My dad had my 2k disc for the longest time because I forgot to take it out of his CD-ROM when I was done installing it. Tore my room apart looking for that thing. One day he calls and he's like "Did you need this disc? I just found it in my CD-ROM." Argh!

My 10 yo son has a bad habit of putting CD's back into the wrong cases. I'm trying to break him out of it, but haven't succeeded thus far.

Makes for fun times if I leave any setup CD's in his drive. Takes forevere to track 'em down in his pile of game CD cases.

Glad you found it in the last place you looked. Imagine if you hadn't looked there. Where would you have found it then?

Cheers
Mick

Hmm which habit should you be breaking Mick?
Your son putting them in teh wrong case, or you leaving them there forhim to put into the wrong case?

Glad ya found draboo, along with the others we're glad you didn't find it after you tried the last place you looked when you found it

Well of course it's in the last place you look. lol. And you know...one of these days we'll hear about someone that found it in the second to last place they looked! Ugghhh!

Sorry draboo...that phrase has always bugged me. lol. Makes me think of a line from one of my favorite movies:

"You gotta remember that these are just simple farmers. These are ppl of the land. The common clay of the new west. You know....MORONS!"

lol!

Give yourself a cookie if you know which movie that came from...

I have one word for you.Back-up, back-up, back-up....Can never have enough copies of an important program.I make three backups of each program. Keep one in a safe and one in a sock drawer and one next to the computer.

That wouldn't work for me. My kids raid my sock drawer more than I do.

I could put a copy in their sock drawers, though. They'd never get touched in a million years!
