Intolerance of religions
Has anyone noticed that most religions are tolerated except ones with Jewish backgrounds? (Christianity and Judaism) It's all over the media, all most all the other religions are well resurched to make sure they portray them correctly but Christianity and Judiasm are slandered at every turn. What's with that?

| Argon88, I have no idea what you're talking about. My impression is pretty much the exact reverse: that any religions other than Christianity or Judaism tend to be caricatured in the media; these days, especially, Islam is the main victim, but in the past, Hinduism, Shinto, Buddhism and the various American Indian and African religions were given slipshod treatment.
What, specifically, is your beef? Why do you think that Christianity (somehow, I don't think you're Jewish) is getting a raw deal?

I think it has alot to do with this: Quote:
(John 15:18 KJV) If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
(John 15:19 KJV) If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
(John 15:20 KJV) Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
(John 15:21 KJV) But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
| Glad to see you see the media's obvious hatred of the Judio/Christian heritage. Not many people do.
-Chris

I agree with Theo. Islam has been the main victim.

Franklin Graham, is like any other person that cannot or doesn't want to differentiate between a religion and politics. Between religion, and politicisation of religion. Between problems arising from stagnation, ignorance, lack of education, simplicity and oppression.
This comes as a surprise to me since he claims to have visited the Middle East about 70 times, to quote the article, I guess on all these 70 occasions it never occurred to him that simple and ignorant people can interpret anything in a simple and ignorant manner, and that the outcome of their actions will simple and ignorant too.
Luckily there are others of his creed, and line of work, who have chosen a much more clever method of trying to 'preach Gods love and tolerance' to others. Instead of subscribing to the "one-opinion-fits-all" propaganda they try to engage in serious dialogue, not monologue and silly finger pointing.
Anyone who claims that the problems arising in the Middle East are based on the religion, knows nothing about the religion and it's history, knows nothing about the political problems in the region that have lasted for about 400 years, knows nothing about the internal and external problems and conflicts.
It is easier to point the finger, to make blanket statements, allegations, generalisations, superficial and ignorant remarks and to bad mouth, because these do not require any in depth knowledge, any serious reading or research, anyone can be a racist or ‘hater’. But it takes time, effort and an honest character to be fair, balanced and above all, informed and educated.
People like Graham are like Osama bin Ladin. Why you ask in shock? Well, Osama bin Ladin hates all 300 million Americans based on the actions of a few of them, he makes blanket statements and generalisations too, he see’s all Americans and Christians as the hated enemy, as the evil opponent that are all out to kill Muslims and revive inquisitions, as I said, it’s easy to hate, anyone can do it, no specific IQ required.
