First of all, have you seen the film or are you judging the "book" by it's cover? The Cannes award has absolutely nothing to do with your opinion of the film (if indeed you've even actually seen it), nor the opinion of the general public:

So, in short, if you aren't from Cannes and not an "arthouse-loving critic" then how could you possibly understand the reasoning behind the award?
Or secondly, you must be one of those gun-loving Americans who feels it's not the guns that are killing our high school children...it's their classmates!
