Memorial Day

I hope everyone has a good Memorial day today. Did you remember to put your flag at half-staff? Only until noon, you know. Check out this link for more info on displaying the US flag... U.S. Flag Code. The "Memorial" in Memorial Day has been ignored by too many of us who are beneficiaries of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. Often we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice. What do you have planned for today? A BBQ? Spending time with your family? Here are some suggestions...
How about visiting cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of our fallen heroes. Or try visiting local Memorials. What ever you'll be doing today, try to remember that 3 p.m. is the "National Moment of Remembrance" as set forth by former President Clinton. At 3 p.m. take a moment to pause and think upon the true meaning of the day, and for Taps to be played. Here is a link to Taps in WAV format. And another for Taps in Real Audio format. Here are some nice images I came across...

great stuff idigg. I think far to many people forget what today is actually for. If nothing else, just say thx to a veteran (it really makes them feel good).

Nice Post Idigguns

I do agree that some of us recognize the day as a holiday, and miss the real meaning
