Say what you may about the French,

they sure know how to commemorate.

At La Tour d'Argent, carcasses of freshly strangled ducks are pressed to extract the blood which is mixed with cognac and port to make a rich, sizzling sauce.
Mmm. What an appetizing image.

I would gladly take this dish over some of the other European dishes I have seen.
Especially several Swedish "food dishes" that sky has enlightened me with.

Well, the Tour d'Argent still has two stars from the Guide Michelin after all these years (they used to have three), and caneton pressé is their signature dish. Sounds good to me.

A pepperoni pizza will pass thru your bowels just as efficient as caviar, as Warthog pointed out in his digestive system post. I may sound blue-collar, but what's the point? Is it the whole "dining experience"?

In some countries the act of dining is a national hobby, with a complete culture. In France, a dinner amongst friends lasts for hours, and the table is constantly visited by bottles of wine, and various cheeses, sounds good to me too

Well, Toadman, if all you ask of food is that it be absorbed efficiently through your intestines, I hope you enjoy your hamster chow. Me, I want a bit more...
