Just want to be able to share this!

I was just out grocery shopping with my wife when we passed a garage sale sign that had "computer stuff" written in small letters underneath.
After spending several min. pleading with the better half and convincing her I really DID NEED more computer crap , we turned around and went back.
Wasnt expecting much, but lo-and-behold it was a 6 family extravaganza in a well to do neighborhood full of tech geeks and computer related workers.
I picked up 2 WD 3gig HDs and a 24x cdrom for $10 freekin bucks!
I almost hurt myself whipping out the cash...hell I almost walked right past a full boxed Windows XP upgrade priced at $50...almost!
He said he bought it, installed it and never activated it. Didn't like it so went back to 98se and decided to get rid of it.
God Im still shakin!
I rarely run into these luck out situations!
Cant really share my excitement with the wife cuz all I get is that patented "why is that such a big deal?!?" look and I know its useless to try explaining.
On a side note I owe many of you a debt of gratitude for all the help and info you've generously given. Thanx to all and lettin me vent my excitement to people who can appreciate it!

Its nice to "find" things---had a neighbor (80 y.o.) buy a year old Dell laptop at a garage sale for 70$---it didnt work---till I plugged a working power adaptor into it and charged its Li-Ion battery---still blows my mind he bought it---they told him it worked just couldnt power it because their kid "lost" the power connect...
30$ fix---what a score!
The case it was in was worth 50$

Thanx guys...it's just nice sometimes to be able to share my enthusiasm for certain things that few people can relate to.
The three gigs are very useful as either secondary backups or to install windows on for testing systems or to get a box up and running until a "proper HD can be had to copy onto.
Just installed Win XP and am tweaking it now.
had it installed for the 30 day trial period twice without activation to see if I really wanted it at all.
Have to say after going back to Win 98 for the last few weeks that I am glad I could finally activate my own copy!
Thanx again!

Did well!
Most of the garage sales here feature such gems as 486s and half dead Socket 7s. Went to one earlier this year where there were boxes of 5.25 Floppies, ISA vid cards, etc. All the good stuff.

Mind this weekend I did buy a 750 Duron, Hsf and 64M/133 Ram for $50Aud, and Six 10/100 Pci Nics for $50Aud.

More cow bits. ChrsR.

Edit: Btw JPM. Once you figure out XP. You wont go back to 98.
