iv e been having trouble with charters webspace"yet" again,so i am gonna attempt to link a pic.

FEI(ForEveryonesInformation),the following pic is from a loooooong time ago in a lifestyle far,far away.....

it was taken in one of our favorite watering holes somewhere around 1980

it musta been rather early in the evening,i m actually sitting up!

Gohan, the picture that my content filter ruleset keeps removing, time to work on my proxy server again....

ya mean its NOT ME??

Just walked in and turned off my proxy filter. Picture doesn't work, atleast for me. It seems your host may be filtering via the HTTP refer header.

BTW, my content filter completely removes the pic and link URL, as in not even an outline or otherwise, thus no trace of a pic what-so-ever.

I just want to post photos, not create a complete site.

If you simply want to display photos without creating a full-blown webpage, you can send people the address of the item itself. After your general URL --http://webpages.charter.net/username/ -- add the exact name of the image:

http://webpages.charter.net/username/picture_name.jpg (or family.jpg or snow3.gif or funny_face.jpg



ive tried this many times with no success

the way i did it is i went to my webspace,and copied the address in the address box.

i tried rclicking ,hitting properties,and copying the url,but that didnt work either.


the trouble with copying from the address box,is the pic only lasts for a little while.

charter changed aroiund their procedures a bit. they used to be :

pws.chartermi.net/draboo/bradnpat3.JPG

but now its changed to webpages,yaddayadda.....

heres what charter says i should use:

http://webpages.chartermi.net/draboo/bradnpat3.jpg

but,alas,no joy again

Check your case (upper/lower).

I'm on charter too, and their servers are still case sensitive for web addresses.

Here's an example of two different links, all I'm doing changing the case of the picture suffix from .jpg to .JPG:
