There's plenty of strange stuff out there. No doubt about it. And Knot is right, there is a spiritual world that's just as real as the physical world.

But 99.9% of these tarot and palm readers and psychics are complete frauds. Especially the ones on TV.

I never said tarot reading was evil in itself. All I said was this stuff is way beyond our comprehension, and that there is a spiritual dimension which surrounds us.

For all I know, Knot is right and tarot reading is perfectly innocuous. BUT... my warning stands: take care. Like any pastime, it could become all-pervading in your life. It doesn't have to lead to any form of satanic worship. Just by keeping you from finding God is enough.

Sure, if you can make some pocket money, that's nice. But IMO you need to be careful in how far you go with this. I believe there is a spiritual battle for your soul, and as long as the bad guys can keep your eyes away from the what's really going on, they can win.

Stay safe, skybolt_1.

Cheers
Mick

The idea behind such things as Tarot cards is called 'divination' or trying to know the outcome of future events by contacting the spirit world. In Christian theology the practices of such are denounced, and here is the reason.
1) If God exists, as Christian theology asserts, then the happenings or events in our lives are not random (as we suppose). Not that all such events are orchestrated by God, but that he has power over life and death and is the sovereign of all creation. Yes, everything.
2) Using divination is actually a lack of faith in the goodness of God. Faith demands that we believe, not understand, nor be able to prove that God exists, but faith in God demands trust. Seeking to see into future events because of existential dread or what ever neuroses life evokes within us, is trying to know what we should not necessarily seek. It is not trusting, that regardless of what happens, God will be with us if only we acknowledge his sovereignty over both our lives and our death.
In the theists mind death is but a passing to the all, the absolute. A transition where God has promised that we will become one with him. Now that's a mind blower!! To become one with the creator of this magnificent universe. And better, it is God's will that we should do so, if only we live a life that seeks his will.
God is a loving father who only seeks what's best for his children. Unfortunately, what is best for us is also at times the most difficult.
Peace be with you, wallie_x
