huh? why kids start dinking.
I talk to a few of my friends on why they started drink. YOu know what the biggest thing was. They were bored. An 15 yar old bored mind is never a good thing. Some said that they started because they had nothing to do and their parents wouldn't let them go out with friends. So when they did...
Some reasons were because of child labor laws. One of my friends said they started drinking because they had nothing to do while waiting for a ride home from work. They could of been working, but because of the labor laws they couldn't. They got the idea that drinking would keep them warm on cold nights, and started. Soon they couldn't really stop.

I don't know too many high school students that are really "alcoholics" most of them (myself included) can stop at any time. Sometimes it's just fun to do...
Personally I haven't had anything to drink in about a year. My last drink was something my uncle showed me how to make, it was pretty much a fruit smoothie with a little bit of vodka and coconut rum.
Why don't I want to drink right now? Because I will wait until I am out of the house and in college to do that..

I see much more of a problem with young people being addicted to chewing and smoking, than drinking....everyone seems to love to go out and drink, but I've seen no 'alcoholics', per say. I'd like to know why they start smoking/chewing...

lol Knot when I posted that, I knew someone would say something about that.
In reality I don't think drinking is a huge problem until college. Like Warthog said, I see a lot more kids having a problem with smoking/chewing tobacco, and smoking marijuana.
Like I have said before, most high school kids can get ciggy's or weed the easiest.
Alcohol on the other hand is a bit harder to get.

I'll ask wart.
There not acholics, yet they are at the same time. They can stop, yet they cant'. It's like Takeing my computer away from me. I could do it at anytime, but not willingly.

Hey, Wart!
Well, the basic on this is, everybody has their poison. Some unfortunate people connect with it. Then they have an agony of it when it starts to kill them.
Plus, many people have what's called an "Addictive Personality". They can become addicted to LOTS of things.
Leaving others, not so afflicted, thinking, "Why, what a piece of trash, that guy/girl"... I'll stop here. |

Hey Blaze hopefully I'm the only one reading your thread title right you might want to add an "r".
And I drink because it's my release from work I get home after a long day and have a few drinks and all the problems go away but then again I'm much older that you.
I don't over indulge and know my limit and it gets expensive here and I don't want to get to work the next morning with a hangover.
I guess if the opportunity is there they take advantage of that but you have to realize it can easily become a problem.
I could go on for a long time but I'll stop here.

Yep me too Bob...
*wait* I'm still in college....
don't have time to go partying though
I agree with Blaze though, having nothing to do would definitely contribute to drinking... which is why people should start visiting TechIMO .. that should keep em busy
