Saw something that kinda worried me.
Today as I was at an ATM and there was an elderly man exiting. There are two steps at the entrance. It must have taken the poor fella 45 seconds to get himself down these steps and about 15 seconds to walk about 5 steps. Then it took about 20 seconds to get himself in the car. This is the part that worried me. I have nothing against the elderly or them driving, but how quick can his reaction time be if he had to swerve out of the way of something? He could barely get to his car 10 feet away.
Should they re-test people at a certain age?
I was tought that driving is a privilege not a right.

So true..... I'm with you all the way.
You also lose sight as you get older... I saw this Old Lady once drive accross a hwy division and crashed into a gas station... Nothing happend to her (i think).
She just wanted to put some gas on her car.... imagine.

Here is the way I see it.The proper ages to drive start at 27 and end at 80.Young people drive way to fast.Always have to show off.Older people drive way to slow.Always looking for the next exit.I think all drivers should be required to take defensive driving classes for four years before their allowed to drive. | it is a privilege and way to many people abuse the hell out of it.

theres nothing wrong with driving fast as long as long as you KNOW HOW to drive. there IS a problem with people who drive slow, todays world is fast paced and everyone is usually in a hurry, and slow drivers eff things up. it also boils down to the majority of people drive fast, at least 10 over the limit, and slow drivers create dangerous situations when everyone around them is driving fast.

I do agree, as you get older your senses aren't as sharp as they used to be.I have seen many elderly people driving that had no right to be IMO.
I think a madatory age for retesting should be set.I can only hope that when I get too old to drive, I will be competent enough to know it

I think every 10 years you should have to re-take a driving test.
I think you should be able to start driving when you know what you are doing. Too many kids I know t know what they are doing. I'm looking forward to getting my liscnce in two years. I already know how to drive. Too bad my parents won't let me get a motorcycle.
I have had too many close calls with eldery driver son my bike. I generally go about 20 - 35 MPH when I go somewhere, on the side of the road. The edlery drivers just don't see me or something, thats why I slammed into the side of a brand new car about a year ago. The old man was driveing pretty much laughed at me ( I was okay, just a little shocked )the old lady was bi****** at me. They we exiting in the enter lane, and just pulled out right in front of me. I couldn't stop in time, I was about 3 feet away from the car, and bam it was in front of me. Crash.
