Kids Annoying popup

When I open a page, each and every time , I get a popup for

price-direct-techimo-top.pl from www.resellersratings.com

I downloaded and open it and got unintelligible print in notepad. What's going on and how can I make it stop. Both in IE 6 and Avant browser ?????

Thanks.... pickel

Running any content filtering software, perhaps Proxomitron or Norton? The .pl is related to the RR banner, and will often be filtered as a downloadable extension with these types of content filters.

Would it not work to download a pop-up blocker mod for IE, or just another browser?

Probably not, because it is really a download dialog box opening. This is a known problem with several content filters when filtering perl scripts with a .pl extension.

I use Proxomitron as a content filter for my entire LAN, and it does this same action at several websites I frequent, though not at TechIMO. It is likely a configuration difference in the header filters, check for any rules mentioning .pl in the filter options.
