American Idol

I normally wouldn't be watching this type of show, but nothing decent was on one night a few weeks ago, and I started the series.

Anyway, who wins tonight? Clay Aiken I would guess, since he appeals to the MTV generation.

I think your right Clay will win. I don't think it really matters they both will have record deals and make more money then I will ever have

Having helped out on a couple of theatrical projects back in the school days, yes parents are like that. Everyone always wants to believe their kids are the best in everything, and will not take any other response as being valid.

Reuben is great, but I think be fell flat the last couple of shows as compared to Clay. I actually prefer soul to the pop stuff Clay sings, but I am trying to be realistic about the bulk of voters: MTV, cell-phone, text-messaging teenagers.

Hmm the only idols I have are my parents, they are real and in the flesh and I can go to them anytime.

Reuben won by only a 1,000 or so votes, though they both will have albums produced.

I despise pop and everything it stands for, that basically sums up my opinion of AI. Though Reuben seems like a cool guy, glad he won.

Well they were obviously going to both have albums produced anyway. The top like 7 or something are going on tour right? So they will all get their shot anyway.

Yeah, I believe the top 10 are going on tour. Though I would assume the marine guy may be in active service, so it might just be the top 9.
