about posting news on the front page

was just wondering what the go is? I work closely with Spoon, the author/creator of dbpoweramp, and was wondering if it's ok to post any significant news about it? as recently he has just released the worlds first windows iPod mp4 uploader.

Don't worry the paragraphs, I can deal with formatting during approval.

Ok thanks, but looks like the whole article never got printed: http://www.techimo.com/newsapp/index.pl?photo=3834

and it doesn't make any sense now as half of it is missing?

It still makes sense, but I did have to cut the format down, otherwise it would have occupied over 25% of the front-page.

Tell ya' what, if you want to write up a short guide or article about the software, I would be glad to publish it and promote the work via our press releations list for ya'. Can't get a better deal than that.

thank you RobRich for your time.

it was mainly due to the fact i wasn't familiar with posting news here. and i wasn't too sure how it would look when posted either. is their a prefered charactor/word limit when posting news? as i will be mindfull of this next time.

and thank you for your offer to promote the software. yes i will right up a short article about it. would i then get in touch with you via email? or the forum? and if you can indicate to me how many words I should keep below when writing the guide/article.

thank you.

I don't promote the fact since i usually have to edit news posts anyway, but news submissions can actually be done in HTML if need be.

A short article sounds great. Word limit is whatever, could be anyware from 400-600 one page to multiple pages with full graphics and thousands of words.

For comparison's sake, the bulk of our articles generally average 500-1000 words.

Most any text, doc, or HTML format is acceptable. Just toss the article and any required graphics into a ZIP file (less than 2mb please), and forward the submission to editor@techimo.com

I usually have submitted articles formatted and published a couple of days after initial submission. I then send out a press release announcement to our PR list to better promote the work, and in this case, your project.
