How to save on cable...

Here's the article:

http://www.wftv.com/money/2213496/detail.html

Now here's my question:

Why are local cable companies allowed to advertise thier tier programs as the only price structure if the law saws otherwise?

(Also help me find the hole in this, I know its there but I'm just to tired tonite).

Goodnite from over-charged land...

I don't think this is any secret, or at least it wasn't to me. Of course, they're going to advertise packages, that's what they want to sell. It's like buying a car, they want to sell you these huge options packages, even though you only want a couple of them.

Where they get us is we need "family" cable to get a discount on our internet service. So we're paying only $30 for internet, but $45 for TV. But if I try to save a few bucks to get basic, which is something like $15, I end up paying $10 more for internet. Same thing with satellite. It's not worth switching.
