too many hours

wow, what a day! worked 13 hours, then had to drive for almost 2 hours, then gobble some food, jet for the shower, dive in bed,and sleep real fast. now ,after 5 hours of sleep, its off i go again.

sure am glad this job isnt permanant(one of the sort of good things about construction. you KNOW you will be getting laid off so when it does happen, its no big deal)

crawled aroiund inside a huge tank that holds lime mud and tore down a scaffold. it was like mud. in fact, that was the name of the tank, the mud tank.

hope its only 8 hours today

see ya in 13 hours or so

brad

Glad to hear you're pickin' up some hours and payin' the bills though
Not to mention the flooding didn't kill your work!

That sounds like back breaking work. It's good that you can take it. I'm a wimp when it comes to back pain.
WTH is lime mud used for?

schweeeet! only 8 hours today.last week i worked 3 -12 hour shifts and two eights.

took down lots o` scaffold today, also. tho none inside of any muddy tanks. might make it thru this week,i guestimate, but thats probably it.

the lime mud is used to produce paper. i m working at a paper mill. the mill has shut down production for maintainance. pipefitters electricians, boilermakers and millwrights replace different pumps, valves, etc. inspectors inspect various welds on pretty much everything crucial ,like the boiler welds and inside of that mud tank i was in.

ive been working on a scaffold crew who constructs all the various scaffolds and platforms for the other trades to work off of.

the weirdest place to date was right inside the boiler. could just barely turn around, the space was so narrow. good thing i m not too claustrophobic

at 51,i m the most senior member of our crew. guess i must be holding my own,i m still there

not ready for the pasture just yet,now if i can just hold out 4 more years till retirement....*insert praying smiley here*

well, i m off to get some rest.

later,folks,

brad
