HDTV, should I?

Ok, I took the plunge and got an HDTV TV, This one and I am very very happy with it. Now I have to decide if I want to pay Time Warner the $11.00 a month to get HD programming. I get 6 channels, 2 HBO, Discovery and CBS, ABC, PBS.

So, my question is if its worth it. Anyone here have HD, what do you think?

Also, they want $50 to "install" it, meaning bring me the tuner. I would like this waived if I dont keep it over 30 days, is that reasonable?

When I shopped around for my HD-ready TV, even the sales guys says there is not enough programming available yet to justify the costs, unless you are a serious couch potato who watches those channels that already offer it. I'll likely get the converter later.

I would get 6 in my case. Already have digital. The only advantage I see in digital is more channels. Picture quality isnt that much better than standard cable.

Actually I just called them and I can replace my crappy digital box with a combo instead of renting the decoder and lower the price to 7.50 total instead of 11.00.

Its a done deal. Time Warner will be here between 12-5 on Friday to install it.

6 HD channels will add $7.50 to my bill with $29 install. Seemed like each time I called the price went down.

I get ABC, CBS, NBC, Discovery, 2 HBOs. I'm hoping it will get better with time. The way I see it at least I can use the HD part of the TV some of the time. And I get CSI in HD.
