Home Audio Receivers...

Anyone have any links to some good web sites that explain all the intricacies of home audio.

I recently purchased a new TV (36" Sony WEGA XBR) and a DVD player (Sony DVPNS700P). Now I'm looking for a nice receiver to hook all these goodies up to.

I really would like to know about all the hookups on the back of a receiver nowadays. I used to have a old Pioneer from the 70's that did a good job in stereo. All it required was RCA jacks. Any websites that explain coax and optical digital?

I was looking at the Sony STR-SL7 because of it's silver color (to match the DVD player and TV) and because it is slim and won't take up too much space under the TV. But I'm not sure if it has all the necessary hookups for my TV, DVD, VCR, digital cable, and future expansion (CD player).

Thanks!

...Another thing, what does hooking up the Svideo (or a video signal in general) to the receiver get you?

The Outlaw is good for those on a budget. I prefer the B&K AVR307 or the Denon AVR5800.

Anyone have any info on the Sony STR-SL7 or the Pioneer VSXC300?

I'm looking for PDFs of the manuals or the manual. I want to see the layout of the inputs/outputs on the back of the receiver. I've found the back of the Sony, but I'm looking for the Pioneer.
