Electrical questions need answers.

FYI I do not intend to do anything about this electrical problem because we plan to be outta this house by august. So but I have a annoying problem and wondered if any one can answer the why question for me.

Firstly a Stove typically has 4 burners and a oven so thetrically this means all can be ran at the same time cooking different stuffs. Right?

So why is it EVERYTIME i use more than 2 burners and the stove at the same time it trips the breakers everytime?

The range is on its own two breakers with nothing else on the breakers. But trips all the time when having 2+ plus burners in use and the oven going.

Why Why Why?

A couple of possible thoughts. One is the breakers ratings are too low for the stove rating, so they trip if you pull too much current. What are they rated at? And why two breakers for one stove? Sounds like some weird wiring there.

Another possibility is that there is a short in the stove somewhere, which pulls too much power only if more than one element is on. Possible, but unlikely. The first idea is more likely.

Cheers

Could be the wrong breakers,or the wrong wire causing it to pull too much amperage.Or the range has a short like mick said.

Mick the two breakers are for 220v 110 on each breaker.

Ah, OK, we only have single breakers for 240V here. This dual current/dual line business is a bit confusing to us single phase ppl.

And you drive on the wrong side of the road!! What else do ya'll do wrong, I wonder?

take it from an electrician.

Look at the breakers, and tell me what amp they are, should be 40+ if it's 40 go get a 60 amp.

you should be fine.

also look at the gauge of the cable for your stove should be a 6 gauge, or 8 gauge minimum.

Says 50 on the little end of the breaker. 50 on each of the two breakers to the range. They both always flip, not just one, always both of them.

Edit: the panel says I think says was done in 1976. that is guessing. All I can see is 0 2 6 the numbers are fairly faded.

Mick, BC, WHA-HAHAHAHA!!

Lemme see...electrical.... hmmm...I know plumbing...carpentry is no sweat....as far as I know, there are three ways to wire a wall socket...

Two will kill you, and I forget the other one.

Hey, Neo, I suggest you get a place with a gas stove (I can help you with that.)
