The Rocky Horror Picture Show Phenomenon

Hey guys, just want to start a thread by asking if anyone ever got to see the show and dress up or lose their virginity, if you know what I mean. I saw it here a couple of years ago before the theater got shut down, probably one of the best cult movie experiences ever. Hit it up

Did it many times, Saturday nights at 11PM at the local theater. Dressing up was fun and bringing a bag full of stuff into a theater would be unheard of nowadays!!

Ahh the New Yorker theatre in the late 70's and early 80's, Fri. and Sat. night's at midnight. What a scene. Can it, Janet.

So come up to the lab. And see what's on the slab.
I see you shiver with antici... pation!
But maybe the rain isn't really to blame
So I'll remove the cause, but not the symptom.

Not quite, tarpat1. My local theater still allows people to do that when they play the show. I've only seen parts of it.

I haven't been to the theaters to see it.
Have watched it several times though. Entertaining movie to say the least.

One must experience it live in the theatre for it's full affect.

I used to go see the midnight showings on Saturdays at the University Theater in Berkeley.

One of those actors that performed live for us every week was Tim Curry (the actual Frank N. Furter from the movie!). I had no idea that one day he'd go on to become a famous actor.

My girlfriend was always tring to talk me into dressing up for it. I usually refused. The one time we dressed up was when the Saturday midnight show also fell on Halloween night. I was Riff Raff, she was Magenta.

Lot's of fun!

I think sometimes it used to scare my friends that I liked the movie. Most teenagers don't see it as "cool" for them so naturally everyone hates it.
