Kids passed promotion today, they are now my little Blue Belts in Karate! Im one proud momma!

ya they are big delights to me.
They are gonna take a break from karate for the summer to join in other activities as swimming and other summer camps. then back into karate again. They been going for 22 months now. We have decided that they will continue the classes untill they recieve at least thier 1st black belts. (there are 3 levels of black belts) We decided this because they can earn thier way up to black belt by the time they are 16 years old. Right now they are 7 & 8. Reason we decided this is because once the kids hit thier teen years dating is inevetible (is that the right spelling?) and we want to be able to rest assured that if they run into trouble on thier dates expecially our daughter we want to know they they will know how to protect themselves. I think they will end up thanking us later when they are older for pushing them with this. However we do also want to be flexible for summer months so we also decided that summer months are going to be breaks for other short term activities.

We feel pretty good about our decision. Its amazing how much they have changed since 2 years ago. Expecially sheli. she has got so much more control of her self now. Whooo hooo!!!

I think it is indeed a good decision.

They need to be able to stand up for theirself.

Good idea to prepare them with self-defense for the dating game. It's getting a bit vicious out there!!

I think the discipline of martial arts is just as important as the physical defense. The discipline will stay with them for the rest of their lives, even when the moves get rusty.
