TORNADO!!!
Whoa!!! Had a lame week? Well, consider yourself lucky. I live in CJ, MO, part of the area all those twisters were in sunday. What an expierence. Had one go over our house. Tore down almost every tree, some by the roots.(I'll have pics one of these days) Took out the electric too(in case anyone noticed this is my first post since sunday) So I been out all week haulin limbs and cleaning up. Our house is OK, but my next door neighbor had a big ol limb fall on his roof, got some nice sized holes. Finally got the electric up half an hour ago, first thing I did was check my e-mail and come here. I'll post more when I have some time, G2G.

Tuesday was my night to be lucky...granted we didn't have any tornado's go over the house. The worst we had was marble size hail and a few small dents in the car the next morning...
The town about 7 miles south of me (Jackson, MO) wasn't so lucky...had a tornado touch down for about 10 minutes...doin damage to over 130 homes and destroying 12. Amazingly no one was killed. Here's a link to the local newspaper...they have some pictures up of the damage: Tornado Pics from Jackson, MO

Zounds!! Our newspaper has pics too. Not sure where they are hiding on the website, but click here anyway. The town that got it real bad is Pierce City. They had a real cool ol' downtown, all brick, from the turn of the century and erlier. Its all totalted. Heck, Brian Williams did a story about it. I thought it was weird, our area being on national news.

Yeah, move to Cal where there are earthquakes... no...
Move to florida where there are hurricanes... no...
Move to indiana where there are floods... no...
We're surrounded!!!
I think I like it right here... Tornados can be deadly, but really there isn't any place that's "safer" than another place, just different ways of dying...
How's your dad, tony? Is he getting out of the hospital today?

VA isn't too bad.. we're too far inland for hurricanes, too far south for a real blizzard, no earthquakes, on the east side of the mountains so tornado's are not likely...
May have to duck for a low flying plane but that doesn't happen very often thankfully

LOL. Ok...let's see...bad things about living in Southeast Missouri. Not counting the unbearable humidity and the fact that there's not a darn thing to do on a sat night...cept go out and get drunk. lol.
Anyways...Southeast Missouri...smack dab in the middle of Tornado Alley, there's the New Madrid fault line for earthquakes...lol. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. But those 2 are enough! Yet I stick around...odd. lol
