This is just wrong
I know that I am posting about a very touchy subject but this has got to be said.
[RANT]
I was coming home from work today and about 6 or 7 blocks from my house were some people protesting abortion. Now I don't want to be the one to trample on Fredom of Speech but the stuff that they had on the sidewalks was uncalled for. They had 6' tall pictures of dead babies, fetuses. This was not just 1 or 2 but more like 4 placards with 2 pics each, one on each side. That was one side of the street, on the other side more of the same but not as much.
These people have the right to protest but this was bull****, there is NO need to show these pics.
What if I would have had my 5yr old son in the car, what do I say when he asks why did they have pictures of dead babies. what then.
I called the police and lodged a complaint with city hall. They said that there was nothing that they could do. Well I hope they are out there tomorrow when I go by. I will stop and excercise my freedom of speech.
[/RANT]
Not to much more I can say about this incident as I would most likely get banned. This realy got me fired up. Gotta go do some yard work to calm down.

Murder is a touchy subject ,which is what abortion is. People need to be made aware of this fact. Abortion is MURDER. The doctors and nurses that perform such acts should be punished by law. But, I know this will never happen in the world we live in today. Where there is no such thing as morality anymore. The fact the our society is falling apart and the people have no morals is no surprise to me. The only thing that does surprise me though is has subtle this all came about. I won't say what I really would like to say on this subject because people would think I was nuts. But, I will say that one day we will be judged by our deeds and I would not want to be an abortion doctor and have to explain why I murdered hundreds or even thousands of babies. Whether you believe in the Christian faith or any other faith you cannot explain away killing Innocent newborn babies as an ok thing to do. Remember people abortion is MURDER.I pray to GOD for a pox on groups like NOW who are the same kind of evil as Hitler was.

I will not touch this subject on a public forum, but Terminal I do not believe Korgul was offering any opinion on abortion, just that he thought the signs were inappropriate for the situation. I would agree, especially for parents driving their children past the protest spot.

Terminal - Rob Rich is right I am not saying abortion is right or wrong. I have my opinion on it and I will keep that to myself.
What my rant is about is the fact that they had the pictures there.
These were not just harmless pics of a baby. These were grotesque pics. I will not describe them here but if you want I can explain better in a PM.

I was down there this morning korgul and saw them too.
It was terrible. But it did make me think.
I too would have been enraged if I had small children that saw them or might see them. I'm so far from that now I didn't think of it that way. | |

Lets not make this an Abortion is right or wrong thread.
I want to keep this to a right or wrong tactics thread ( I think ) The pictures that these people displayed were obscene. They were tasteless and were only displayed for shock value. Well it shocked me alright, right into thinking that the only thing they are doing is hurting their cause by displaying them.

For any cause that the right sort of people are against, whether it be abortion, or war, or the use of lab rats, there are horrifying images which can be used to shock the public. Unfortunately, the use of such pictures usually only turns people against the protesters themselves.

M-six I agree. They are hurting themselves more than helping.
I think there needs to be a "limit" on the type of pics that can be displayed at these protests, any protest for that matter. Keep it clean, there is no need to pull a stunt like that.
