About this guy that cut his own arm off...

I speculated that his arm must have been broken because there's no way to cut through your arm bones with a pocket knife.

Well I was right and wrong. Apparently his arm was not initially broken. But when he decided that he had to amputate the limb he then broke the arm himself because he knew the knife wouldn't cut through the bone.

OMG.

All I can say is that this guy has more survival instinct in his little pinky (the one he has left) than I got in my whole body.

Huh??

"survival instinct "??

Survival instict says DONT get trapped FIRST, THEN if caught says cut off arm. I say you have more than he because you HAVEN'T been trapped to the point of having to cut off your own arm.

Sometimes it takes guts to survive. Sometimes it TAKES SMARTS!!

Seems we're no different from animals that was caught in traps. They chewed their limbs off. If that fella didn't have a knife he'd chewed his arm off.

That ain't the whole story though...not only did this guy cut off his own arm...he then reppeled over 60 feet down to reach ground and then walked like 4 or 5 miles before he found some other hikers that could help him!!!

I also heard that they went back later to try retrieve his arm in hopes of re-attaching it...but it was totally crushed. So when you think about it he really didn't lose that much. His arm was done for anyways.
