Tips for selling a Car?

Anyone have any? What kind of things do you do? Don't do?
I'm not gonna spend much money on it to sell it but..

I've never really done this before..

Loaded, every option available at the time it was made.

But that reminds me, I have the original sound equipment.
But now it has 2 Rockford Fossgate amps , 250 and 400.
4 3way speakers Geeze I'm drawin a blank on the brand.
A 12" RF sub.
A Pioneer Head unit. uh? 5400? (the one just before the jumping whales on the face plate)
Z rated tires still pretty good

It has too many miles on it, but I don't stay still..
75,000 most of em are highway. It's a pretty sweet car and gets a lot of looks

Doh! its the one in the picture I have in our ride section...

If you live in heavy traffic area and the laws permit it park it front of your house with a for sale sign. Also price it a few $100 above your bottom $ so they can talk you down and if they are new to buying they may not even try to talk you down. Don't take checks unless it is a bank check froom the bank itself(I sell cars & cycles cash only)Can goto the link below to get an idea of the value.

good luck, it's a bad time of year to sell but if it's a truck or SUV the time is now

Clean everything. Use Armor All on the dash, pillars, seat side-covers, etc. If your daring, pressure wash the engine with that engine cleaner stuff. Go thu and auto-wash and get the under body flush, unless the car is from Michigan(you'll get kinda wet if it is) . Just make sure all the little stuff looks good and clean.

I did nothing but used car prep. at a GM dealer for a summer, and those are the things that sold the cars(according to my boss anyway).

Good luck

Jer

Get the buyer to sign a bill of sale...

You can list it in your local paper, try ebay, classifieds2000.com, autos.yahoo.com, or you can try to sell it to Carmax, but definitely get the kelly blue book values..

Nice car. Bit like the Taurus, though.

Hmm, I might advertise in Vegas,, I don't know if I would have thought of that without your prompt.

I wonder if the fact that there is not another one like it in town a good thing or bad thing..
Where is the happy mediam on blue book, whlse or retail ..
Everyone looks at em both now-a-days...

Reduce the tire pressure about 6 psi below what you'd normally drive it at. This will make the car seem to ride quieter & softer & help quiet any rattles or squeeks.

Make sure there's no loose junk in the trunk & glove box to rattle around.

A can of STP or Motor Honey in the oil will make the engine quieter, even if it's already quiet. Just don't add it when the engine is cold, and warm the bottle up good first. I stick it under a hot water faucet for 5 minutes. If everything's cold, it might lock up a lifter or the oil pump. Bad news if that happens.

Don't try to impress people with how fast the car is. They'll find out by themselves when they drive it. You don't want to give them the impression that you drove like Mario Andretti all the time.
