Talk Chevy 2000 s10 coversions

Hey all.... just curious... i cannot find a SINGLE page on the net about anyone converting a 4cyl s10 (2.2l)SFI to a 4.3lv6
(262cu in.) or a 350 v8..... just seeing if anyone knows (or has a url that explains it) a 4.3l can be stuffed in that truck im almost certain that its an act of god to try to stuff a 350 in that frontend...hehe
thx

Believe it or not, a 350 will probably fit. I used to work with a gearhead who had a 1993 S-10 4X4 pickup and he stuffed a 350 in without a problem... he was even able to keep the 4X4 intact.

The 2000 model has a slightly different frontend, so that's why I say probably.

UPDATE: I found a few web pages:

The Chevy S-10 V-8 Convsion Page

Chevy S-10 V-8 Conversion Parts

Good Luck!

I'm pretty sure they will too. It wasn't that long ago that Chevy was putting 350s in them and calling them some odd name.

You can go to about any speed/off road shop and order a kit to slap a v8 in an s-10. I did one a few years ago,and it isn't so bad. They provide the motor mounts, trans mount, ect. And they run great. We did a 327 with a small crane cam, turbo 400 in a early 90s s-10.Impresive performance.

A guy at work had an S-10 with a small block 400 in it...very impressive, even if it had a hard time hooking up.

I know a couple guys that stuffed 350's & 383's into Chevy Luvs!

The 383 had tunnel ram with dual quads! (Can you say "smoke 'em over"?)

With talent, effort & money, you can probably stuff a very hot 350 in there.

'Course, around here it wouldn't be at all legal.

Almost anyone that want's a really hot conversion starts with a vehicle older than '73.

Hope you bring the cash, a supercharger for the 4.3L is not cheap. Could probably build a 305 or 350 cheaper than a supercharged V6. Maybe even a nice 327 if you look around.....

Best 4 cylinder to V8 conversion I have ever seen was a 86 Fiero. Dropped a 383 stroker in that little car!

Heck, If I can stuff an 388 stroked smallblock into an old '72 Vega, you sure ought to be able to stuff one into an S-10!
