I'm disappearing for a while.
Marcia and I are leaving tomorrow for Venice and won't be back until 22 May, so I'll be out of touch; no TechIMO for three weeks. To quote an old joke, "So what am I gonna do for aggravation?"
I'll figure out something.
But I'm taking the Canon S45 and 672 MB of Compact Flash, so I may inflict some scenics on you when I return. |

Hey, c'mon, you're getting waaaay too much vacation! At my company, I need fifteen years before I get another week of vacation.
Seriously, have a great time and post some cool pix when you get back. Your NC pix were good.

With the Feds, you get 104 hours of annual leave after one year, 160 after three, and 208 after fifteen. And you can carry up to 240 hours of unused leave from one year to the next. (You can take leave in one-hour chunks.) There are some compensations for salaries that are a lot less than in industry; health benefits are pretty good as well, and of course job security is very good.
I'll have been with EPA 25 years in September.

Jeez, what are you going to do... you're gonna go and get used to 'normal' traffic, come back here and be traumatized
