Boston police to get "IT"

Read it all here

Should be interesting to see how it turns out. They guy they interviewed (TV) had some trouble explaing the $8000 a piece, but who knows they may turn out to be the next best thing right?

Kids

I wonder how they'll secure them if they have to chase someone on foot. An unattended Segway would be a prime target for theft. At $8k, it would be "Grand Theft Segway".

coffee and donuts

Will "IT" come with a cup holder and a "doggy" bag????
Does "IT" have a passing gear for "Hot Pursuit"???
I remember when the cops in NYC got scooters.. What a joke, LOL, motorized meter maids!

Boston Police now avoid embarasing chuckles, I once saw a Pacer as a police car, it spent it's entire life parked behind the YMCA (hidden). I suspect after a few photo ops IT will find IT-self a nice broom closet to fade away in.

I wounder how they would make out with todays 5 inches of snow?

Exactly... the snow and rain are a few small issues... ya think?

Anyway, as far as preventing theft... special keys/cards worn around the police-person's neck like a whistle?
