I'm just going to bounce this off of you all.
Background;
My wife's ex is a police officer in our city. They had two children during their 3 years together. These girls, 12 & 13, have been with my wife and I for the last 9 years. He has joint/split custody but has only seen them for an hour at a time for the last 4 months. Prior to that, he didn't see them at all for (2 1/2) years, by his own choice. In the 2 years before that, he did see them every other weekend.
We made a suggestion to his mother that it wasn't fair to her and the rest of her family that they don't get to see/visit with our girls just because of him. We made arrangements to drop them off at her house every other weekend and the whole family has enjoyed it immensely. He comes over for dinner and visits with them and has made repeated attempts to bad mouth my wife to the girls every chance he gets.
Here's the question.
Today, he brought over my wife's police record to show it to the girls. Minor stuff here, a misdemeanor, but to a police officer that thinks that his $hit doesn't stink, he makes her out to be horrible just because she has something on her record.
What right does he have to print out someone else's record and share it with others off duty?
Does he hold the right to print off anybody's record whenever he wants?
What right do we have to protect our right to privacy?
Has he broken his own sacred laws?
I want to know the legal aspect of this!
Is this a violation of our civil rights?
If it is or if I have any rights legally, I'm going to take them against him. I tired of his abuse of the system!
Any help?
