A day which will live in infamy...
---December 7, 1941---
My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who died @ Pearl Harbor, as well as for the victim's families and friends.
My thoughts and prayers also go out to those who fought and died in WWII...let us never again have to experience such an abominable war.
As for the monstrous attacks on US soil September 11th, let us never forget what happenned that day...

Amen,
As far as I am concerned, any day in which an innocent person is killed is...
A day which will live in infamy... |

Found article comparing the American response to attacks on Dec. 7, 1941 and on Sept. 11, 2001. "Dates in Infamy" by Victor Davis Hanson Quote: |
"Each week, after December 7, we learned that our initial vulnerabilty was ephemeral, our rejoinder deadly and enduring. And because we are still our grandfather's children, the Taliban, Sadaam Hussein, perhaps Mr. Arafat, Assad and others of their ilk should understand that September 11 was not the end , but the very beginning.. We did not want this war and as a people abhor killing, but history teaches us that by God we shall surely end it--and on our terms, not theirs."

I think everyone that lives in the US should care because we might be speaking German if we hadn't defeated the Axis powers.

Beat me to the post Jad. 60 years ago today this country was abruptly thrown into one of the worst wars the world has ever seen. The United States gathered itself back together, and went and preserved freedom for the world. Countless men and woman voluntarily died for freedom, and everyone pulled together.
Sept 11th..the day that shocked the world. Everyone including myself thought that we would pull together like we had for WW2, and in soem ways we have. BUt like the vietnam war, we have our own college students screaming murder, high school teachers teaching kids how to burn American flags, companies not allowing anything patriotic to be shown in teh work place.
What has happened in 60 years? Why are we allowing this? Surely we cant be turning our backs on everything this country has given us...can we?

Today is the day that will live in infamy.
The only compensation that makes it less than deplorable is that without that event, the outcome of WW2 would have been different. God Bless America

I never forget this day.
Unfortunately, besides some shows on the tv and this BBS, I haven't heard a thing about this all day.......

Hey Warthog...I agree...I haven't seen hardly anything @ all about December 7, and the attack on Pearl Harbor! This makes me wonder, where has our American Spirit gone? Should we just leave events like December 7th, and September 11th just fade away into the oblivion that is History??? NO, WE should always keep these events fresh in our minds, well written in our HISTORY books, correctly spoken by our teachers and professors!! The purpose of history is to LEARN from it. If we forget, then we don't learn!
My whole family dating back to William the Conqueror, has participated in every major war this world has had. I study geneology along with my mother, and I never forget the past, I want to learn from it. We all should, too!
To the US: God Bless America!
To the World: God Bless Humanity!
