Bank Run For 3rd Straight Day

This really irks me. If these people would learn the American culture and language this would not be an issue. But,since they refuse to respect our culture they act like idiot's.Get a grip and learn the language.

Simple, they don't trust capitalism and the validity of a free market economy. They grew up with corruption and rumors of such.

Its not a language or cultural thing at all. They simply got information through thier newspaper of choice which so happens to be a chineese language and radio show reported something, its quite possible thier was a mixup in the print. We often see that in our own american papers. ain't no different than anything else. they believed what they read and acted upon it.

Just like we would if we read reports in the paper of some embezzelment involving one of the US Banks head people of course all of us would be lining up to get our money out too.

toadman, it has nothing to do with not trusting capitalism and validitly at all IMO.

It has everything to do with what they read and with the recent corruptions we had with the CEO executives a while back would make anyone nervous.

I think they acted reasonably considering the infromation was suppose to be from a trusted source as thier paper and radio station.

If you are familiar with the bank, the customers are mostly Chinese immigrants.

And so are the tellers and managers. What does that have to do with anything?

I mainly said this because if they knew what the banking rules are they would not be in a panic to withdrawal their money. This is due to the fact that they live in an isolated world. They don't go outside their own neighborhood I'd bet.If your going to live in another country you better assimilate with the culture .I would never go to a foreign country and expect to have everybody speak english.

But if you were in a foreign county, and you found other English speaking people, I bet you would generate towards them.
I know I would.

Well, I do know the banking rules, and in similar circumstances I'd go to check on things myself, as these folks did.

Some customers said Thursday they were not
originally concerned, but long delays at the bank were making them nervous.
Catherine Chen, an immigrant from the Fujian province, said she had been coming to the bank since Tuesday because she needed to get her passport, which she kept in a safe deposit box. After two days of waiting, she said she had lost faith.
If any bank, of any language, race, nationality, or location *, under any circumstances, ever made me wait that length of time for safe deposit access, it'd be the last time I set foot there!! Heck, I pulled out of one bank because I was having to spend over 15 minutes there regularly.

Yep, I'd definately withdraw - in cash!!

<* - added for clarification>
