How many ‘Harleys’ and how many ‘Davidsons’ originally founded the company in 1903?

What is a pferdestarke?

In 1983 500cc World champion Franco Uncini was involved in an horrific accident. As he was trying to leave the track after an earlier accident, he was hit by a GP rookie, who was heavily blamed for ending Uncinis career.
That rookie went on to a world championship of his own.
Who was he?

Who was he?

The legendary[!] BMW 'Boxer Twin' has been in production since 1923.
Although the motor looks symmetrical, it isn’t, quite.
The cylinders are offset when viewed from above.
One sits forward of the other.
Which one? Left or right?

What was the logo, that the ‘late great’ Barry Sheene famously wore on the front of his racing helmet?

A well known tyre manufacturer for many years produced it’s own motorcycle. Eventually a combination of factors including pressure from major motorcycle manufacturers, who banded together to boycott fitment of their tyres.
Led the tyre company to cease production of the bikes.
Who was that tyre company?

What is a “tankslapper”?
I’ll suggest some clues here.
No, not the bikini model draped over your ‘pride and joy’ in the photo shoot.
And no, not a ‘grid girl.’ Although the tag fits.

Post away! Googling is cheating.
I’ll post the answers at the end of the weekend.

Btw: This is all my own work.
Questions framed while on a 160Km fang this afternoon.
Finally used some earplugs on a ride today.
Was quiet enuff to think!

Cheers Rusty.

Fifteen. Didn't he win the most Grand Prix's in a row too? I think Valentino Rossi was well on his way of beating that record when he suffered a broken rear tyre and had to reitre(no pun intended).

Fifteen. Correct. He did.

Most GPs in a row?

Hmm... Got me there, AE.

Dunno. Remember Ago won his titles in different classes.

Whats a "fang" Rusty?

We got a FANG here, but it's the Fresno Air National Guard base.

PS: very tough questions (and I've never kept up with bike racing.)

Ok, I got some for you:

On the first prototype Harley Davidson M/C, what common item did they use to make the carburetor from?

What happened when they ran that prototype engine?

What failed motorcycle company did Alvin J. Musselman form & how did he actually make his fortune?

What kind of M/C did Bronson ride in the show "Then Came Bronson"?

Bronson rode a Harley Sportster. They had a number of different bikes dressed up to look like a Harley, depending on the shot. Sportsters were notoriously bad at hillclimbs.
