Unless China is ready to apply pressure by shutting off fuel and food, I don't see any good outcomes. I guess we can let the UN do something until the NK's test a bomb. I really think they will attack South Korea with or without the US in the South if they don't get what they want. What they want is the South's prosperity without the freedom, and that just isn't the way it works...

Wizzard~Of~Ozz, you missed the point. The point is they are dangerous to the USA. They are not going to aim their missiles at Canada but at the USA. The SARS comment was a figure of speech. Buy why wouldn't you wish bad things on bad people? This regime is worse than Saddam! The threat to the south is their artillery, a infantry push would be a slaughter of the north's troops. They would kill a lot of people on the way down but they would have nothing left when they got there. Unfortunately, dictators rule innocent people.

I guess we share some national differences on how we view the world around us!

N. Korea has little to lose in being brash. Either we pay them off to shut up or they lose a war and we rebuild their country. I would hope China steps in soon and settles them down before it gets to that. If not, and these threats continue for a few months more, the US will shut them up, and I don't think it will be done with giving them more welfare money. It'll be a full scale war provided we have assurance that China won't aid N. Korea.
