losing my job

arg. my company got bought out by another ISP. we got 2 weeks notice. this sucks. i have no idea what i am going to do. went through monster, dice, techies, local pittsburgh sites for jobs, and i got nothing.

20 hours a week for 2 weeks after. ....not enough to pay the bills. and the people who bought us arent hiring.

Man that sucks. I hope the best for you. I've heard a lot of stories about people bouncing back from a layoff to find a much better job.

We were just bought last week too. We have over 6000 emplyees in the area and we have already been told there will be some layoffs. The worst part is waiting for the axe to fall.

winbeam.com the sucky part was we were all scheduled to have interviews here with the owner, mine was at 2:10 on monday, so i showed up at 1 to find out that he had decided to leave 20 minutes earlier. 2 of us never got the interview because he based everything on the previous people. everyone else has eitehr found another job, or didnt want to work there. the two of us are are the only ones who need the job and the best 2 in this company too. from what i gathered from everyone else though, he was a real jerk, he was asking people personal questions like what their mothers did when they grew up and religious preferences too. i told them to sue.

as far as relocating, i have a lease on my apt. until end of august. and i go to school too. and we cant sublet.

Sorry to hear it. It doesn't sound like they treated you the best way they could.

If I may, get your resume out there now. Talk to your friends in the industry, cut your expenses, and keep with the education.

Keep pounding at the doors. Don't give it rest, because every body else might.
