headphones!

Do you guys use head phones or speakers?

right now i'm using my sennheiserHD-25's and they are maxed out so loud that you can hear them clearly from my mail box. I need to get some speakers tho. cause i can't hear the phone ringing or anyone talking to me... or anything...

Headphones, usually cheap, as I have been on the go here lately. Not like I can lug a 5.1 around with my notebook.

Loud head phones will kill hearing faster than anything out there. Keep listening to those headphones at those levels and soon you won't be hearing anything... at all!

In the '70's you could buy these headphones called Koss Pro 4-AA's....man, they were the MAX. I burned them out, but it took a long time to do it.... They were heavy-duty, and you could tell they meant business from the git-go!

Nowadays, I have a set of Sennheiser Studio Reference 'phones, but dang it, they're pretty accurate reproduction-wise, but the WHOOOMP! just isn't there.

WHAT? I can't hear you!

Both.

I'm often up when others sleep, so I keep things quiet with headphones. When I'm alone I switch to speakers.

Knot!

Hey Knot! I owned a pair of thise Koss 4AA's and the thing I remember most was my head felt like it was in a vice after about 15 minutes! I used 'em in broadcasting; they sealed VERY well.

Curiously, I'm using Sennheisers these days, too.

You DO need to be careful with headphones as you do not physically FEEL theBASS the way da kids like it wit' phones. Whoop! There it is!

Sennheisers are pretty dam cool. these ones are much nicer than my sony DJ studio monitors. One problem with these is they bloke out around 10 db without even turning them on... so you can''t hear a thing!!!

Jacob!

I was aware that Koss had re-released this model. The original was a pale green....

Notice the silver "knob" on the side. That actually plugs a hole that can be used to mount a microphone. So the phones not only squeezed my poor head, I also had to deal with the additional weight of the mike! AARGH!!

I don't miss 'em.
