Systems Putting things in perspective....

My company has been sold and they are going to shut the doors down on about 3000 people pretty soon ( may extend up to 6 months ). Tension is very high. People are leaving daily.

My girlfriend works there too...so were both in the same boat.
Tonight after she went home, my dog started barking, so I went out to see what it was. The neighbor had a car problem, so I looked at it as a stranger walks up with a box in hand.

My dog barks, I call her to stop, and the guy ( the stranger ) is asking who owns the cat he is carrying in the box.

Poor cat was ran over by a car and panting very rapidly between moans. Blood from his ears and mouth. He won't live through the night.

My problems seem very unimportant right about now, because I am lucky enough that I will wake up in the morning...

The cat won't be that lucky.

Well, I just had to adjust my attitude.

I feel bad for the cat. I do not feel bad for me, even if I loose my job...I will still wake up in the morning. It could be worse.

It's a shame that something like this has to happen. It would be a worse shame if I did not see that life is too valueable to ruin worrying over a job.

BBA, I'm sorry to hear the bad news has happened. It's hard when the hammer drops.. even when it's been suspected for awhile. I know you won't have any problems finding another - even better - position somewhere, you've got the skills and knowledge to go anywhere.

I hope that poor cat was taken to an animal emergency unit and the poor thing put out of its misery if nothing else..

I had to put down two sick cats this year. They had both been with us a long time. But even a stranger would have evoked the same emotions. It's hard to face the death of even a small creature.

Well, BBA, It looks like you might have some time to polish up the Vette. Polish up your resume, and polish off a couple cases of brew.

Keep the shiny side up, dude.

Cadd.

I guess a lot of people just say "so what, it was a cat", but animals are so special, so innocent and "untainted" by all of our BS - all they want is our love and attention and they're happy as can be. I felt like dying inside when I had to put my first dog to sleep years ago, and I feel a bit of the same pain whenever I hear about things like this .

I'm sorry about your job, BBA... that seems to be a growing trend ..

It's tough seeing something like that. Kindof puts thinks in perspective.....

I hope the guy finds the owner...it was sure nice of him to be looking for the owner. If he was the driver, I hope he doesn't take it too hard...not to mention the owners.

I hope the work situation turns out to provide a better opportunity. Then later on you'll be able to look back and say "I'm glad we lost those jobs, otherwise we would have missed this opportunity"
