hm i heard this strange "joke" or whatever it is, that the sound editor of the song hang himself after the song was finished, and when the children sing "all in all it's just a" it sounds like in german "hol in hol in unters dach" which means "get him get him under the roof" can someone figuer out if its really "joke" or that they really sing that? i donnu

(Phone Ringing)
[Man:] "Hello?"
[Operator:] "Yes, a collect call for Mrs. Floyd from Mr. Floyd. Will you accept the charges from the United States"

[Man:] (Hangs up phone)
[Operator:] "He hung up. Is this your residence, sir? I wonder why he hung up... There must be someone else there besides your wife to answer."

(Phone Ringing)
[Man:] "Hello?"
[Operator:] "This is the United States calling. Are we reaching?..."

[Man:] (Hangs up phone again)
[Operator:] "See he keeps hanging up. But it's a man answering."

eh hem, leave this one to me please.
This is my most favorite group of all time.
this is not a joke, here are the actual lyrics and he is not speaking german at all.

Another Brick In The Wall, Part I

Daddy's gone across the ocean,
Leaving just a memory,
A snapshot in the family album.
Daddy, what else did you leave for me?
Daddy, whatcha leave behind for me?
All in all it was just a brick in the wall.
All in all it was just the bricks in the wall.

Another Brick In The Wall, Part II

We don't need no education.
We don't need no thought control.
No dark sarcasm in the classroom.
Teacher, leave those kids alone.
Hey, Teacher, leave those kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

We don't need no education.
We don't need no thought control.
No dark sarcasm in the classroom.
Teachers, leave those kids alone.
Hey, Teacher, leave those kids alone!
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

Another Brick in the Wall, Part III

I don't need no walls around me.
And I don't need no drugs to calm me.
I have seen the writing on the wall.
Don't think I need any thing at all.
No. Don't think I need anything at all.
All in all it was all just the bricks in the wall.
All in all it was all just the bricks in the wall.

If you can get your hands on thier first three albums they are pretty awesome expecially the piper at the gates of dawn and Ummagumma.

the nexts guys of faves from the old times are Uriah Heap. Hard to find thier albums now unfortunalty.

I might be in the minority on this, because it was better understood when I wasn't "umming"....maybe all the hype around "umming" when watching it blew it for me. *shrug* I heard "That's the only way you'll understand the movie"....uh , It's easier to understand when not "umming" to me as there isn't much to it, that isn't obvious.

The Wall is awesome though as well as PF.

I wish I was old enough to see them live during that time period....DSOT/Animals/DSOTM/WYWH/Wall/

Obviously not as good as the full PF, but Roger Waters "In the Flesh" Live DVD is great.

Would you like to learn to fly?
Would you like to see me try?

I know exactly what you are talking about. After all, that is the only way to see that movie.

Speaking of Ummagumma...that record has the song that has the longest file name that I've ever named an MP3 file:

Pink_Floyd__Ummagumma_[xx]_Several_Species_of_Small_Furry_Animals_Gathered_T ogether_in_a_Cave_and_Grooving_with_a_Pict.mp3

But I think my all time favorite Floyd album is Animals. Some of their early stuff with Sid Barrett was just a little to .... I dunno, ...."out there". I guess that was just Sid's influence. (His name fit him perfectly btw. )

Now you be careful with that axe Eugene.
