sick from singing

sometimes i sing along with music.. or mock songs to annoy my brother.. well.. now and then it makes me sick

i have been coughing for around 3 days, and i just know its from the singing, since this only happens when i sing.. any ideas?

usually i wont get like this, i will just get a horrible headache

i could just stop singing.. but then who would be annoyed

Prolly from trying to reach a pitch out of your range.Funny things happen when you push your body to do things it don't like to do.
I have sang so hard that I have lost my voice,and sounded like I had the flu

Sing from your abdomen, leave your throat and head relaxed. Easier said than done, and I break the rule all the time. Also, warm up a little before you go and aggravate somebody. If you start belting "cold", you'll run into the gravel area pretty fast.
