Something "Fishy" at another site

There is another "un-named" Technical Site on the web nearby.

I posted a message, (My first since the expulsion of our leader) the subject was "All members Please Read"

The "Fishy" part ?

Well, all day long the ledger shows some 200~ members "on-line" yet only 15 people have read the message..

Very Suspicious.

Hmmm...

200 online translates to minimum 5000 members. We have like 1200-1300, right.

So its like 4 times the size of TechIMO. Ergo, it stands to reason that the forum has a collective depth and breadth in knowledge/experience equal to 4 times TechIMO.

Right.

Something not quite kosher here.

Ummm...Say that they never actually "nuked" Warthog (just for example, I'm not pickin' on the Wart.)

Then when Warthog joins up here, and goes on-line, he's still listed as a "member on-line" there too.

I'm not, since they really "nuked" me good. But a lot of members that kept the exact same user name when they migrated to TechIMO are still showing up as members there too.

Even though they don't go there.

I'm pretty sure we're all tracked through our cookies like this.

Even when you don't actually open "that other" website.

How 'bout it, all you 'net heads? Am I right or wrong?

It doesn't show me loged in. But I use window washer. It pulls out more than cookies. I haven't told it to save any cookies from the other site you might be takeing about.
