Deliberately Distorting the Digital Mechanism

The New York Times (FRYYY) has an interesting article today on two artists who are creating "Internet Art" by deliberately doing things like messing around with browsers. Many of them can be viewed online at www.jodi.org, asdfg.jodi.org, 404.jodi.org, wrongbrowser.com and wwwwwwwww.jodi.org. They're also at 0100101110101101.org.
Quote:
Tilman Baumgaertel, the exhibition's co-curator and the editor of its catalog, said Jodi's vision was "about the deconstruction of technology, the abuse of technology and looking for different opportunities within the technology."

Mr. Paesmans put it this way: He wants people to understand that they "have the freedom to be irresponsible in front of your computer."
Note: at least one of these sites has zipped files that you can open; I haven't messed with them, so I don't know what they'll do to your box.
