well, its all ihis upbringing, and money. my parents would not let me and one of my brothers skip grades, even though we could of easily done it.

Money: some rich-kid school wanted my brother to go to it and my parents could not afford it.

The problem is, is that this kid still has the mentality of a 12 year old.

I remember my mom telling me about him quite a while ago. He's homeschooled so with a 1 to 1 student to teacher ratio you can't help but do well but even with that advantage that is quite a feet.

Money can not make a person intelligent, It can only make them smart.

This person is obviously extremely intelligent, completeing 13 grades in 5 years? an average peron can not possibly learn that fast.

No, he didn't have a real childhood by the sounds of it.

I was asked to take a test in grade 4 to put me in a higher learning curve class(probably would have hit university @ 14-15) that this kid was in university @ 10 is amazing.
(I didn't write the test because no one else had to, regret it now tho)

money money money like blazer said. everything revolves around money. and im sure the home tutoring had somthing to do with it. like some have said before, this kid never really got to enjoy childhood, what fun is that? i dont want 1/10 of his brain, im happy the way i am, and i am having a great childhood. i dont want to be in college by the time im 10. even though it looks like this kid has an incredible gift, sometimes it can be curse. he cant even socialize with his friends (if he has any) because he would be so much more advanced in speech and this kids wouldnt know what he is talking about. ill bet there are times when he wishes that he was just a regualr kid, just like some wish they were him.

i think that i could IF it was 1 on 1 student to teacher and the teacher was a good one. for me the only reason i dont understand things in school the first time is because the teacher either doesnt teach it right, or forgets to include all the details, or speaks too low to hear him/her. IMO, if teachers werent STUPID, then there wouldnt be many stupid students. just my two cents on the subject. and granted im sure this kid is above average intelligence but i dont believe he is THAT smart...
